Jane Fairisle Cowl

This is a fairly simple project, using Kidsilk Haze held double. The cowl is also beaded.  Below I have specified what I used, but some of these shades are discontinued.  This would also be fine knitted in  DK such as Rowan Felted Tweed in just 2 shades.

I rate this as fairly simple and good introduction to knitting Fairisle in the round as the charts are very simple, with no catching needed.

You will need:

1 x 25g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Cream – yarn A

1 x 25g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Mahogany (bronze) – yarn B

1 x 25g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Fudge (golden) – yarn C

1 x 25g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Mud (pale caramel) – yarn D
(OR you can substitute the shades and the beads, and shades that will blend as mine do but in another colour group, e.g., pinks or purples instead of browns)

Approx 400 beads, size 6

1 x 4mm fixed cable circular needle, 50 cm long tip to tip

1 x 3.75mm fixed cable circular needle, 50 cm long tip to tip
(Or you can knit this magic loop on a longer needle if you prefer this way)

1 stitch marker

Cost:  £6
