Cave Pearls Throw and Mittens

This design takes the Cave Pearls theme into the realms of a big, fat, luscious yarn – Rowan Cocoon – and creates a really snugly throw or wrap.  Add fingerless (and thumb-less) easy and quick gauntlet mitts, and you have a cosy duo that will knit up fast and keep you very snug and warm.

The throw is knitted on 7mm needles. I used a long circular due to the size and weight of the throw. It uses 7 balls of Cocoon, but you could easily add 1 or 2 more.

The mitts take only 1 ball of Cocoon and are knitted on size 5mm DPNs.  A pair will take only a couple of days, tops.  I knitted them quite long in the arm.  They also have an easy bubbly picot cast-off.

The pattern download includes both designs.

I rate the  throw as easy and the mitts as easy to intermediate, at most.

You will need:

Throw – 7 balls of Rowan Cocoon; 7mm long circular needle (but used to knit back and forth)

Mitts – 1 ball of Rowan Cocoon; a set of 4 X 5mm DPNs and a stitch marker (these are knit in the round, with a bit for the thumb opening where you knit back and forth for a few repeats).
