Beaded 4 Ply Lace Throncho:  Lily

Lily Beaded Throncho 1

This is a fine Throncho with an all-over beaded lace design.  It has great drape and is very flattering.

I used a cashmere blend 4 ply but any animal-fibre based or blended 4 ply yarn will also be just as good, but I would avoid heavy 100% plant fibres due to the weight of the beads.

The lace pattern is moderately challenging but not actually difficult.

You will need:

Rowan Finest 13 X 25g balls (or c1,200m of any 4 ply yarn).  I used Rapture, sh no 068.

3.25mm needles.  Due to the number of stitches and weight of the work I used an 80cm long fixed cable circular needle.

A single 2.75mm needle for the cast off only.

Approx 2,000 beads, size 8 (small).  I used crystal.

  • Knitted flat.
  • One short seam.
  • All-over lace and beading.
  • Degree of difficulty:  medium.  Suitable for an average knitter.

Cost:  £4
